Why Volunteer?
The scope of our influence is determined by the success of our volunteer base. The Dream Center of Tampa places a high value on all of our volunteers. You are partners, coaches, leaders, mentors and influencers and a huge part of allowing us to be able to continue to do what we do.
Mentoring Positions
After School Mentor/Volunteer
- lead a group of students
- provide direction, support and encouragement
- demonstrate positive character
- build relationships
The time commitment is one day per week, Monday through Thursday from 4:30 – 7:15 PM. An approved background check is required.
Mentor/Leader - Boys 2 Men
The ministry is for single moms, grandmothers or guardians of elementary and middle school aged boys (ages 6-14) who want their boys mentored in the Christian faith. There is no cost. Outings include Lowry Park Zoo, Busch Gardens, Bucs Football games, Glazer Children’s Museum, touring a Fire Station, canoeing, swimming and hiking at Hillsborough State Park.
The time commitment is to meet on 3rd Saturday of every month 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM. An approved background check is required.
Community Programming Positions
Volunteer - Community Outreach
Examples of projects we perform in the community are: community/street clean up, painting in the neighborhood, pancake breakfast at local senior living facility, etc.
The time commitment is the 2nd Saturday of every month from 9:00 AM to approximately Noon. An approved background check may be required for programs involving children.
